The nominating committee herein gives notice that a general election process has been commenced according to Article V of the Credit Union's bylaws. The nominating committee has placed into nomination three eligible members for inclusion on the election ballot: one name for each position on the Board open for election. The nominees (listed alphabetically) are:
Adrienne Dellinger (Incumbent), David La Franque (Incumbent), Dennie Smith (Incumbent), Samir Gabriel (Incumbent), and Teresa Huffman (Incumbent). A brief biography for each nominee appears below:
I’ve served on the Charlotte Metro Board of Directors for the past 11 years and have found the position to be a rewarding experience. I have served as the Chair of the Governance Committee for the past three years. I have served as a member of the Nominating Committee, the Foundation Committee, and as a member of the Executive Committee for the past seven years. If re-elected, I will work to ensure that the membership has the best possible financial services and products available. I have over 26 years of experience in non-profit management which I believe will bring value, leadership, and a creative approach to the Board of Directors.
I have served on the Charlotte Metro Board of Directors for the past eight years and have been the Board Treasurer for the past four years. I currently serve as the Chair for the Finance and Board Governance Committees. I also serve as the Secretary of the Board for Habitat for Humanity, Cabarrus County. Professionally, I work as a Federal Task Force Officer with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and have served in law enforcement for over 22 years. With both my professional experience and my dedicated service to the Board, I look forward to growing as a board member and continuing my work for the membership. I have always displayed the highest level of professionalism in keeping with the standards of Charlotte Metro and representing the organization to the fullest.
I was born and raised in Greensboro, NC and graduated from Elon University with a major in Business and Economics. I served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and retired from Cone Mills (now Elevate Textiles, Inc.) after working there for 49 years, starting as a forklift driver while in college and working my way to Division Controller. While with Cone, I traveled extensively, setting up cost systems and overseeing capital budgets during the building and start-up of new manufacturing facilities in Mexico, China, and Nicaragua. I am an active member of my church and have held numerous positions, and previously served on the Board of Premier Federal Credit Union for over 20 years.
I have been a credit union member for over 30 years and have served on the Board of Directors for over 15 years. Prior to my election to the Board, I served as Supervisory Committee Chairman and Committee member. I also served on several community volunteer organizations, including over 10 years on the Board of the Volunteer Center of Greensboro. I retired in May of 2021 as the VP of Finance for Elevate Textiles, Inc., with more than 35 years of accounting and finance experience as a CPA. I want to continue to serve the members of Charlotte Metro Credit Union by utilizing my finance expertise and years of experience.
As Senior VP of Human Resources for global textile manufacturer, Culp, Inc., I have over 36 years of service with the market-leading company. Paired with my unwavering dedication and drive, my commitment to the Culp associates sets the standard for greatness in the workplace. Reporting to the CEO, I have been in increasingly responsible human resources positions within the company since 1986. My team and I implement progressive HR policies and leadership in the face of any challenge. Focusing on putting people first, my instincts are to always do what is best (and safe) for Culp’s 1400 associates. I give credit to my fellow Culp associates and their positive, hard-working, and humble attitudes which enhance the company culture - making Culp, a public company, feel like a family business.
